Very goodChrist not one of your coloured Jack Russells George
No-then again,at least they would work.....unlike some Bavarians.Christ not one of your coloured Jack Russells George. Working terriers and deer work i wonder if it could work? Borders and deer work now thats a different thing some would not put the Border terrier in the working class any more.!!

A typical terrier thenI had a cesky terrier for years. He would find deer OK. Had to have him tied with a lead in the high seat as he would try and do a air attack if a deer past to near the high seat.

FC ranger we used to deal with on some land owned by the estate had a cracking Border terrier for that purpose.Very good at the job it was too.

I use a Border and she lives for deer, she will follow blood trails of several hundred metres with ease and also just a foot for the same distance. Pretty sure she would do more but I cant be bothered to lay longer trails. Her only vice is sometimes she is off like a rocket so I have to use a harness most of the time. When she finds a deer she like to get stuck in too!
Chickenman
She's a beauty i have two but sadly one has bowel cancer. It is such a shame that we only have them for a short time.

A friend and I went Scotland stalking doe's and hind's and the stalker up there had a terrier that came out with us all the time. When laying in the heather watching my friend and the stalker glass some deer up in front I had some company sat right beside me in the pouring rain not a sound and no more than a foot from my side, he was watching the deer. If he realised he was in your way he would move to one side and let you past. If he caught a sent he let you know with the stance he gave it was a great heads up on a forthcoming situation. We came on to a red hind it was a very quick shot off the sticks I was sure the shot was good but deer just went like it was a complete miss. We went to the place of the shot and on are way there, the terrier was just in front picked up the blood trail and went like the wind we followed the trail the dog came back to find us and took us straight to the hind,it was awesome. So it will be a terrier for me when my spaniel is no longer around. I would like a warm lap in the winter up in the high seat.
