Agreed gents and thanks, I've had emails and calls reflecting this too. Before this trip I had already booked more hunting with Christian before we went to Finland. This is with my best mate and I have to trust that while Lapland was as you have read above, Sweden will deliver. If it doesn't then I've burned my best mate and all the guys that were in my team in Lapland in one month..

I've no issues with sorting out the guys that went on my trip, while I might not be able to offer cash I will certainly do something to make things right on an individual basis. The guys that know me will trust that.

Fair play to you.

I agree but think he should have done it earlier after last year & not led people up the garden path like lambs to the slaughter!

Ive been keeping an eye on this thread and interesting its certainley been. I believe this quote Ive used from MJ is spot on. But I fear there has been damage done. Reading lambseys post it looks as if the Outfitter is going to drop the whole lot on paul. I hope an amicable soloution is found for Paul and the lads who went.

I've spent the last few minutes wondering if I'd been harsh on Hunt n Seek with my choice of language, but on reflection I'm not sure I have. I have never been hunting moose in Finland yet, so am not qualified to discuss that, but Christian, take the following onboard and it may well help you a lot in the future :-

Some of your clients will have saved for a long time to pay for what for them will be the trip of a lifetime. It can be very difficult to undertake such a trip due to financial and family constraints. To some it will be a holiday. So to try and cram twelve people into a cabin designed for a smaller group really does show a lack of respect for your clients. Regardless of the remote location, anything other than a reasonable degree of confort will never be acceptable to people. Be honest, did you really not expect complaints when trying to cram people into such conditions? Surely you must have realised that this would really **** people off?

As for no toilet paper being avalaiable, that's just inexcusable. It again demonstrates that you simply do not care about your guests. Do you actually understand how ridiculous Hunt n Seek must look to the outside world for failing to provide this? Do you just not care at all about the accomodation the hunters live in?

On the catering front, I have actually skied in Finland in temperatures below -20c. Anything less than three hot, large meals a day would be completely unnaceptable. I think you're making life harder for yourself by offering a choice. Ensure your hunters get three decent meals a day and they'll be happy. I believe that anything less than this will always result in you looking like a poor quality outfit, if you have to increase your prices a little, do it as you will look very stupid if you cannot get basic meal and accomodations right on your trips.

Your comments about costs are to be honest, nothing but very weak excuses. It is your responsibility to ensure your guests are housed and fed correctly regardless of what you have charged them. So you only look a fool by trying to justify yourself here. Do you honestly believe hunters from the SD forum would have attended your hunt if they knew that accomodation and food was to be such a joke? It seems a little disingenuous to say the least to try and avoid your responsibilities like this, and you're not looking particularly honest and genuine either to be frank.

You really should consider the amount of damage these incidents are doing to your companies reputation. The amount of compensation on offer does seem very small, and I'd strongly recommend you reconsider the amount on offer to those who have wasted time and money on your trips. It is unlikely many will want to use your services again at the moment and as the value of a discounted hunt in the future appears far greater than the tiny amount on offer it does seem fair to me that you compensate these people properly. Again, think about the value you place on Hunt n Seeks reputation.

Best

Dear hunters.

There have been many things said and discussed. You need to understand that is takes a long time to read and understand what has been written and to write back to you. This is not easy to do! We do not feel that many of the comments are fair because it is clear that many hunters do not understand moose hunting with dogs and we cannot agree to many complaints. The hunting has been done the same way as any moosehunt would have been done in Finland.

We can though agree that you are not happy with the food and the cabins with space and beds which could have been better. We could have made this better but more expensive in the price. You must understand that we did not make any money in this hunt because moose hunting is very expensive to organise and only next trip we get something back.

We want to make this right but it is very difficult for us. The very best we can refund to hunters is 150 euro or hunters can have a 1/3 of any hunt you come on with us. Hunters must chose either some refund or 1/3 off any hunting trip with us. Hunters cannot have both. We are sorry again your expectations and our expectation were not met. We hope this will help make things right.

If you state one more time Christian --

"We do not feel that many of the comments are fair because it is clear that many hunters do not understand moose hunting with dogs and we cannot agree to many complaints. The hunting has been done the same way as any moosehunt would have been done in Finland."

I will put the link to this site on every forum in England !!! We do understand very well that when put in front of an open clearfell of 600m its not likely a Moose will break cover heading into such an open expanse. We also understand if your looking at a shear drop its unlikely they can abseil... There were hunters on this trip with immense experience ( not me :-P ) so please show some god damn respect...

If you try to palm us off as mugs one more time ill be exposing you to every site I can in England..

Again business acumen has to be brought into question here... 1/3 off a hunt or 150 euro's ? Cant you see how the two do not equate in any way, or maybe they do which is even more worrying after shelling out over a grand...

Imo you should be looking at a good bit more than the 150 euro's you have offered as it really was an appalling experience flawed at so many levels..

I will take the €150 euro and put the whole sorry affair behind me. This at least covers expenses for the inadequate food arrangements. How do you propose to pay those Hunters whom accept Your offer ?

I've not said much on this thread as im good friends with paul however this is not his fault that this was poorly put together its hunt n seeks!the lads on the trip knew how ****ed off I was, I scrimped and saved my money to go on this trip it was either that or a ticket to Canada to visit family, but I decided when am I ever gonna get chance to do this again in Lapland! How f-kin disappointed was I :I did get it at a discount because of Paul but it was still a lot of money and I'm pretty ****ed off that all were being offered is 150 euros not even pounds! We've all been seriously burned here and it seems some of us are rolling over and letting this lot of conmen tickle our bellys for 150 euro I'm with lambsey on this one! I'll take the money but I'm still not happy

Slightly off topic but does anybody know what the minimum calibre required for moose in Finland is (if there is one).

With hunt and seek? A 12ft / lb air rifle. That might sound a bit on the light side, but you're not going to see a moose anyway and if you do, there is no tag available anyway so you'll not need to fire. Just cary it around with you so you feel like a hunter. ;)

With a reputable outfit you want something at least 6.5 x 55 with at least a 10g bullet. :-D
