Does email notification only work for first reply?

As above, set up threads for instant email notification but it only seems to have worked for the first reply.
Is this correct or have I made an erse of it?

That's correct, you only get a notification IF there has been a reply since you last visited and it will only notify you once. This is by design because some threads get hundreds of replies and people could be swamped by emails.

In the email it says "There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again."

You get a notification when something is posted after you last looked at the thread.
So if you look after every e-mail you will get an e-mail for every post.
