The black dot of doom fun shoot - anyone game?

View attachment 38870

Well here is my effort not the best group ive shot with this rifle, but not a bad attempt today shooting of a bi pod !
375 H+H magnum, 300 grain bullets, distance 100 yards, sorry its not on the correct form but it does show a half decent group from a factory of the shelf rifle !

On the first post there is a link i believe to the correct form, i have no printer so had to improvise and use a piece of tape

I did this yesterday using a bipod on the bonnet of my Land Rover (in a very muddy field, as you can see from the splashes). Shame about #3, but overall I'm pretty happy with it.Doom 02.03.webp

Ive printed the template out for a go at this tomorrow but the dot is only 7/8inch so it'll be interesting .
I'll try my .22lr at 50yds
.17rem at 100
.243 at 100
and .308 at 100
I may even take the air rifle for a shot at 30yds too :)

Here's my take on the subject. I was heading to the range to zero two guns which I use for driven hunt. Remembering this thread I also took my 260Rem which is the current go-to gun when I need accuracy.

I conveniently had 4rds left, loaded to brass I keep track on. Also 2rds with the same load in misc brass. Additional benefit was to shoot them so I can reload that batch of brass.

Since the shooting range is 100m and it would be very difficult to shoot at 100y, I decided to take these targets (they're some kind of 10m air rifle targets) that have 30mm center bull. To be fair I also backed 3m from the 100m line so the angular size would equal 1" at 100y...

The shooting lane had transformed into kind of a icy field covered in few millimeters of water. I shot from prone position with bipod, this isn't my preferred method but I wanted to obey the rules. I also use to dial for distance, but this time I held off. I'm (not perfectly) zeroed at 150m and never even checked the zero at 100m. JBM ballistics suggests 1.8cm high at 100m with my sight height and velocity (actually not measured but a good guess based on previous experience in other guns) so I just held in the bottom of the black bull.

Left target is the prone position. Right target is shot sitting on tall 3 leg field chair and using tripod. I used the misc brass for the second string and also tried to shoot a bit faster. Muzzle height in the position was 125cm so it's viable field position, say in driven hunt for longer shots.

prone from bipod , fist under butt instead of bag , I was extremely nervous for the 3rd shot in case I buggered up what was turning into a great group.

to be honest this was one of those exceptional groups i'm not normally this lucky ! but would expect around an inch normally.

I regularly check zero on these cards that I picked up in riflecrafts shop and as you can see from the date I checked zero a couple of weeks ago so wasn't expecting to miss the black dot prone !

off sticks might be a whole different story though !!!

those 1" squares are 1.5" across the diagonal.....retest with a circle! :D

Where did you go to school ? It's 1 3/8 actually !

And anyway I've posted a pic of your target with a round poa !as for deer legal ammo , I checked and the dot was very very dead!
