BBC 1 1-o-clock news.

Mr Salmond is now asking for an inquiry into the BBC as he feels that the recent events of RBS and Lloyds banks leaving Scotland if the yes vote wins, should not have been leaked out and he is accusing the BBC of spreading gossip.

Hmm seems to me that he certainly didn't want the general Scottish public to hear such issues as he probably knew it already?

Politicians !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you notice them getting into a argument as Salmond refused to answer the question which was put to him and spouted off saying this was the first time the BBC had squabbled like this during an interview

Got the last of my forms off to NZ house today, will the last to leave please switch the lights off.

I'm quite looking forward to a YES vote. When the Scots economy collapses and the Scottish 'punt' ain't worth a carrot I'll be able to enjoy my favourite single malt tipple for a lot less! Bonus.

What about the 1.5-2k jobs at HMRC Cumbernauld? Will they be moved south?

I know someone who works in HMRC here...jobs will be going South.

Those that want to stay may get jobs with Salmonds new McTax dept.

Maybe's aye, maybe's naw and under what terms and conditions ???

I can see it All going abroad...need the revenue....sorry :)

Irish is not bad though, I like a wee Powers, especially when over in N.I. ... seems to taste better.

I'm pretty sure the uk economy owns 83% of RBS. I don't know why it's such a shock that it would move to England in the event of a yes?

'Cos that's where most of it's business is done and that's where the Tax will go if a split ;) *
Some companies register in Ireland 'cos the tax is lower there...but do their business (so to speak) here.

RBS tax income going to England...ironic eh?

The sh*t is only just starting to hit the fan

* update... that has just been confirmed by bbc radio Scotland economics reporter at 1612 today.

Info above updated see post

What does Salmond tell people?....

"it's just a brass plate being taken down and put up somewhere else"

What a guy.

There are some Exciting times ahead for the Scottish people if the vote goes to yes. All the gaps that are left by the companies moving south (my ass). It will only be a matter of a few months before Scottish people ban anything made in or run by England.
Chance for a real Scottish pound and run by a central bank of Scotland in Scotland and the creation of a real financial centre in the centre of Scotland to follow. FT might shake a bit but we will be ok we are hardier than the English check the cold weather payments lol.
So where is all this get up and go now ..........?
you really should consider a career in writing fiction , you have the most creative imagination .:british:

My wife made a good comment in that the status quo is akin to a married couple.
Where the husband is the bully to a timid wife.
The wife finally has enough and says she is leaving only for the husband to say he'll change and promises her the world.
How long before he goes back to his old ways!

News flash at a recording of The Big Debate which had school pupils as the audience some of the pupils were asked to say they were No or undecided as there were too many Yes pupils.
So much for the BBC being unbiased!!

Additionally there were protests down south regarding the NHS and there has been no mention of the 9000 protestors in any BBC news because it was deemed as inflammatory to the independence debate - impartial BBC my a**e.

Except that Scotland hasn't been bullied. Having a persecution complex isn't the same thing as being an actual victim.

I'm sure I read somewhere that back in the mists of time, the Scottish border moved further south at one point.. Wonder if Salomond fancies a crack at reclaiming "sovereign territory".

No but we have been lied to frequently - no actually we were bullied - bullied with the poll tax, bedroom tax, Trident; which reminds me, where's the largest store of Cold War nuclear bombs oh that'll be at Machrihanish where all the British nuclear devises were put in '89 but I've yet to find out if they were ever removed!

That analogy does not float .
If the man had an ugly bearded wife with expensive habits it would be him asking for the divorce .
