Dog costs per month

I take it that you guys that use one bag of food per month are feeding offal or such like too. My young GWP gets two bags a month, £40. My old dog, who is on medicated food, £120 a month. A good question but very hard to get a definitive answer, price of food differs round the country as do vet prices

I always say my mate was £600, he cost £300 but managed to chew £300 worth of the kids trainers they left about in harms way. Food less than £20 month. Never insured a dog yet , we have had some bills lately as he ruptured a ligament but still much less than the insurance costs over 9 years, but it is luck of the draw, medical problems can come very expensive, and I have been lucky for many many years. Oh yes and £300 for a kennel he has never been in.:-D

if we're counting the value of stuff they've destroyed as a puppy, then my dogs owe me about £350k each.

Our 3 dogs, 2 labs one cocker get one 15kg bag of chappie a month, no offal etc, just the complete food.

We have 9 dogs here, 4 labs and 5 cockers.

Seem to hover around 2.5 bags of food a week and we use Chudleys Working Crunch all year round. Get it at wholesale prices by the tonne though.

Broken down that comes out something like £14 per month on food.

Cheers

Dan

I tried to insure my Cocker and because I work her I was told by several different companies that they wouldn't insure her.
£15 on food a month and I would say max £250 a year for fleas/worming jabs bedding

OP no longer there but my small lab goes through about 12kg of CSJ Champ a month £10ish, Tesco insurance £12 although I'm probably giving that up, hopefully without jinxing I have yet to claim over three dogs. Jabs etc, about £70 per annum.

Does anyone know an insurance company that doesn't jack up the premium as the dog gets older?
