  1. Some More Unknown Magazines

Hi all back again and for all those experts out there who might recognise any off these magazines, all were found in draws and a toolchest so not 100% sure about the identification noted with each mag. Just some comments/ suggestions by club members, if anybody can help it would be appreciated.
  2. Another unidentified. 22" magazine

Can anybody identify this .22" magazine, found amongst some tools at my late friends house.
  3. Unidentified custom magazine

Hi all and thanks for the reply, so it looks like a Tikka mag buy all the comments, haven't any ideas or indication of who made it, but seems to be a lot of works been involved, I was given a box of mixed up and unidentified magazines and parts (I will probably list those for identification...
  4. Unidentified custom magazine

Hi Anybody got any ideas what this custom made magazine will fit, it appears to accept 6.5x55 rounds but doesn't fit my Swedish Mauser so more likely a more modern hunting rifle/ round combination, someone's gone to a lot of trouble to make it and in thick stainless steel of all materials. I...
  5. Vintage Winchester Scope identification

Yes I think your probably correct, if will put it down to another one of life's mysteries.
  6. Vintage Winchester Scope identification

yes, I've looked into that, seems to be more likely than a artillery sight, its way too fragile for that purpose, but I still dont understand why the fine cross hairs are individually adjustable.
  7. Vintage Winchester Scope identification

I would say this is one of the Winchester model scopes either the A or more likely B series scopes from around the WW1 period, I think its the magnification that identify the model, but stand to be corrected on that, while trying to find info on the scope pictured above I came across scope...
  8. Vintage Winchester Scope identification

Hi Peter I didn't realise it was you until the penny dropped, I just cant see this Scope being for a field gun, I think its just too small and fragile to take the stresses involved, it would have to be a pea shooter of a field gun and i dont think they had stuff the small in WW1. Going to seach...
  9. Vintage Winchester Scope identification

Hi Sinistral Thanks for the response and photos, I have seen the Winchester A & B range of scope when searching the web for information, i am just not convinced this is one of those models, this one seems to be of a different design and the Crows foot mark for British Government acceptance...
  10. Vintage Winchester Scope identification

Could anybody identify this old Winchester Rifle scope, its marked Winchester Arms Co, 1917 with serial number and government Crows foot (see photos) has very fine cross hairs and they adjust via the knurled rings, there's no markings about its magnification. I assume it fits into adjustable...
  11. Newby to the forum

Its not just the scopes damaged or not and i suppose the original mounts are just as collectable, will ask my mate in Holland to keep an eye open for anything you never can tell what might crop up.
  12. Newby to the forum

You say cheap damaged scopes in the US, what you call cheap just wondered if its a good idea to have a spare just incase of any future problems or accidents!!
  13. Newby to the forum

I doubt the MOD will alter there view on 6,5mm even if they do I cant see it happening in the near future. I have a friend whos a dutch police officer (on immigration duties) he was a shooter at his local club, ive been with him a few times (good old pistol shooting) but he never seems to find...
  14. Newby to the forum

I have the anorak with hood and satchel, i used to import parts for my h/t from the states but just way too expensive nowadays, even getting stuff from Europe is a pain since Brexit, luckily the wifes Dutch and has relatives that i can have parts posted onto. Yes i would like the correct M41B...
  15. Bolt and Ammo storage

Yes same here, all the bolts, ammo and guns are kept in seperate cabinets, the FEO likes the idea and its good to keep them happy. Like others you have to make sure you have the correct bolt for the rifle your talking, normally i forget the correct ammo but i think we've all done something along...
