  1. RWS cases susprisingly useless after a couple of reloads

I have had a thought! Have you measured the resized cases in a case gauge to see if the resizing die is set up correctly in the press. I find them indispensable for ensuring correct case dimensions. If the cases aren't fully pushed into the die fully the neck may not be closed up enough.
  2. Light weight gambrel construction

I use these small light weight 6mm wires. you do have to hock the animal. Big fallow is the limit. I carry 3 in my bag.
  3. Copper and blood trails

My reloading mentor, when I changed to copper years ago, made an observation about the only down side using copper. He experienced lung and heart matter blocking the exit hole and the animal not leaving a very easy blood trail. I experienced this when using copper bullets at the same speed as...
  4. Best fuel efficient cars or SUV/truck for Stalkers

Don't forget if you go over the 3.5 Tonne limit you need a tachograph. That is potential to load over 3.5. Meaning if your trailer is plated above, you will get a ticket even if you are loaded with straw. Seems the ministry in Kent are trying to raise cash testing fuel and trailer weights.
  5. Best fuel efficient cars or SUV/truck for Stalkers

It is limited on range for just the battery alone but it is where the 160 MPG comes from. All around town is electric. hardly use fuel. to the point the car will stop using electric and make you use fuel to stop the fuel in the tank getting stale.
  6. Best fuel efficient cars or SUV/truck for Stalkers

My Mitsubishi Outlander is a plug in hybrid and at home around town 160 to the gallon. On a run 45-50. The hatch opens to provide relief from rain and is not affected too much by wind. with the back seats down I have room for 2 plasterers baths or 1 and all my gear. Tax free as before April 2017...
  7. M&S Christmas Venison

Seems they have forgotten to adjust the price now that the venison is coming from UK and not NZ:-|
  8. Its not all about shooting deer...unfortunately!

We use strimmers and a tractor mower to give the beaters a chance. but I doubt you have the time.
  9. Pistols for stalking HD

They make a 45-70 Derringer but why. Take a second shot. Ammo is not that expensive. I don't think I will be getting up close in bushes with a wounded animal gun or knife? Now if they introduce bears to our woods maybe!!
  10. Stiff bolt on factory ammo

Take them back to the supplier and ask to swap for a different batch number and try them1 or get your money back.
  11. Advice regarding reload peregrine monolithic in .270 (blown out primers on lowest recomended load)

As goods! they are owned privately and you have to pay for the access!
  12. Advice regarding reload peregrine monolithic in .270 (blown out primers on lowest recomended load)

Seems the load is too hot for your rifle. I have been loading copper for 12 years in different calibers. I have also reloaded a lot of lead for the range. Due diligence for me is to check with several bullet manufacturers what load data they recommend for that weight and type of bullet. Check...
  13. GP report.......again!

I hear that some GP's are going to refuse to do reports on shooters. They are objecting the use of guns for any reason. I personally think they need to be struck off for not doing their job. Will they stop treating lung cancer because they don't like smokers. It is interesting that one of the...
  14. About Me

I have been stalking now for 25 years in Kent, Essex and Scotland. I use 308, 30-06 for deer. Hold DSC2 and deer management qualification to help me manage 2 small areas of Kent. I was on the list of approved HAD officers in Kent but they have now decided to use their armed response officers...
