I found a Paramo No 6 dumped at the side of the street. Quite rusty and very seized. I expected to have to strip it and repaint it but I was astonished to find that lots of the paint was still there under the rust. So I've left it with a lovely patina appropriate to its age rather than trying to...
I bought a Bradley Arms AR15 18 months ago and have used it for one full season of CSR. Fair price and it's been faultless.
I got an 18-inch barrel - plenty of people use shorter than this, so I disagree with the comment above about needing 18-20 inch for 600 yards. But I don't really see any...
Thanks. Appreciate the reply.
I did look at the pinned thread first. I don't believe that this mark is in any of the posts - I certainly couldn't find it.
Curious that there doesn't seem to be a decent web resource for proof marks.
This is on a CZ 527 Silhouette. One is stamped on the barrel and an identical one on the action. I assume they are proof marks but I can't find any record of them online.
Does anyone have a 10 or 20 round AR-15 magazine that's surplus to requirements? I only have 30 round mags and they get in the way when shooting off a bipod.
Cottis's work is very beautiful.
Mine is much more rough and ready. It's really hard to get smooth curves, consistent edges and regular stitching. But that doesn't mean that you can't produce work to be proud of with a bit of practice and care.
There are a couple of bits of advice that I wish...
Box is marked "type: FMJ" and "No. 2905". There's no cannelure.
They seem to be available from a couple of CZ sites - but they don't deliver to the uk.
I have a set of water stones but I've never been totally happy about my ability to hold an angle for the whole of a blade. I usually find it particularly hard towards the tip. I found some angle guides on thingiverse that you can attach to the stone with a rubber band and which give you a...
I bought 500 S&B 6.5mm 140 grain bullets a few years ago and I'm about to run out. They shoot very well in my Tikka 6.5CM - but nobody seems to have them in stock. Does anyone have a stash that they don't need?
If not those, then what should I use? I'm a cheapskate when it comes to bullets...
I've had several pairs of goretex-lined boots and all have been totally waterproof. The fabric ones suffer from the outer becoming wetted through when the water repellent wears off but this doesn't mean that your feet get wet, and is fixed by reproofing (I use Nikwax "Fabric and Leather Proof")...
You've got the objective size the wrong way round, surely? A 40mm is fine on the range because you don't need the extreme light-gathering ability of a 56. People will probably disagree with me but I would also say that you can get away with cheaper glass on the range for exactly the same reason...
I've done the BASC course and I've also done a session with Mike at Jelen (Deer experts in Hampshire UK for all training, consulting and deer control). Mike was more expensive but much more skilled than the BASC instructors.
