Er, thanks - I think the 32s just get the edge of support but I can see why the 42s are praised. I'm thinking slightly smaller and lighter will be better than the marginal improvements with the 42 and may consider the 8x as well. Thanks all.

Any experience of the EL binoculars in 32mm objective? I had a pair of 10x42 EL range in the past, but now thinking of the smaller version. Any thoughts?

I'm looking for a scope for my rimfire, switch barrel .22LR and 17HMR. I'd like zoom with parallax adjustment, I've narrowed it down to Vortex DiamondBack 4-16x42 or Nikon Monarch 4-16x42. Any experience of these or any other scopes that I should consider? Don't want to spend silly money.

Minimum wall thickness on mine was 'only' 15 thou.
