I’ve got my Jagdschein. Have to do in German. I’m also a JGHV judge for tracking dogs. Again, everything was in German. The training and then the exams as well. There are numerous schools that offer the Jagdschein, often in night classes or in blocks. Good luck and all the best George

We had a BGS come in from the Czech Republic on the 8thJanuary, absolutely no issues in the middle of the lockdown. Also a BGS from Germany in no issues and a HS awaiting collection All the best George

The Verein Deutsch Drahthaar is run along the same lines as the Verein Hirschmann and other clubs in Germany/Europe. The dogs should not be bred from unless they pass recognised tests. Recognised by judges that have experience and have actually worked and passed their dogs at this level as well...

100% correct and the way they’ve been bred leads to the major issues. Same will happen with the knowledgeable people in other organisations. Why ? They too will breed crap.... FCI HS coming here are now showing real issues and some have passed on major issues. All the best George

It’s because people here a)Want to think they know everything about dogs. b)they want to dilute down what has been bred for years. Only need to look at numerous breeds ruined here in the UK by people who think they know better. eg drahthaars crossed with labs because the drahthaar are too hot...
