Pocket knife

Opinel for me.
I've carried one type or another in my back pocket for 30 years.SS is fine they use good steel.
No tears if you lose one either.
This is my current companion. Olive wood and stainless steel.
It's an inch shorter than new due to constant use and sharpening. The handle has been shortened too.
I like this style of Opinel handle.

Run with Opinel - any size will do. I have one now for more than 30 years plus three or four others of different sizes. Mrs FB (helpfully) bought me one that even a Gurkha would be afraid to unsheath - still in my cave unused! Bless.

I have one of these and really like it. The fake engraving is a bit naff but comes off with wire wool.

Blade as good as a opinel, but doesn't have an easily damaged handle. Also it is very slim and comfortable to keep in your pocket.

Spyderco Grasshopper is the pocket knife on my keys

And a small Opinel in the car

Beta folding aren’t bad knives, holds a good edge and won’t break the bank.
Never heard of those before so I had a look. I would not recommend these as they are of indeterminate steel and quality. I'm not too much of a knife snob, but I like to know the provenance of the tools I'm using.

I've got one of these. I mostly use it for removing the head and feet off shot deer. Also got an Eka swing blade and Opinel. The blades are all good but the Spyderco is more comfy clipped in the back pocket.
The Spyderco are good knives, great ergonomics and steels, just watch the tips with some, they may not stand up to abuse as they are usually fairly thin in cross section.

Opinals very good for general use but for gutting ,gralloch ive found they get snotted up too much for my liking .Wash them ,the handle swells .Far better to have a plastic handle that washes ,dries hygenically .

Ok sorry, don’t buy these guys, steel isn’t any good 👍
