Tip Of The Week

I love that stuff, it's very versatile. I love epoxy and micro balloons as a filler too.

I have to say that looks a tidy job!

That was/is the tip of the iceberg. One window had been aggressively profiled to ease closing but to the point the lower section had lost a 1/2" of timber. The problem was in fact a combination of seased hinges and expansion at base due to moisture. To correct it took some 4 applications of epoxy and lots of sanding to return the closed gap to an even 3mm top to bottom.

Moving on to the rear windows next week but plan to mix with a few days stalking as my trigger finger is red-raw from sanding and in consequence super-sensitve!

I feel your pain, literally and metaphorically. I spent some time easing and freeing up windows at my mother's prior to a re-dec. Cleaning the buildup of paint off the hinges was one of the most awkward but effective jobs.

It does sound like an armed ramble might prevent a permanent injury?

Indeed!

Replacing all hinges with cromed or stainless steel as I hate the look of painted.

Top tip for removing paint obscured hinge fixing screws is my Wife's kitchen blowtorch. The one she uses for finishing Crème brûlée!

Surprised you haven't got one of these😳

Discovered tonight that when viewed through your mobile phone you can zoom in up to max (16 x) on a HIKMICRO condor resulting no pixelation of the picture, I was playing around with one tonight, had the phone linked and laid on the dashboard and zoomed in on a rabbit at 200yds, excellent for target I.D 😁

This is specific to owners of Daystate Air Wolfs, and who struggle to find a comfortable way to carry it with a conventional sling in-the-field.

The problem is a;- you can't shoulder it barrel up due to the point of balance imposed by the front swivel position and b;- barrel down carry will result in the silencer clonking logs and vegetation!

The simple solution is to loop the sling through the stock's thumbhole which, to all intent and purpose, repositiones the heel sling swivel some 8" forward:

Note: There is no way to safely carry these rifles barrel up IMHO, and do NOT be tempted to attach your sling to the air bottle.

Hi KB
Funny enough my B bottle has the bracket to hold the sling and bipod on , never given it any thought on the weight/pressure on the bottle
I’m away at the moment I’ll put up pic of the bottle clamp when I get home next week 👍

My concern relates to the pressure applied to the following connection point:

Less porous to wet weather and associated sop.

Single piece - sometimes stitching can be minimised: the plaited leather is for taking the rifle off the shoulder, the section on the shoulder is rein grip rubber coated; the only stitching is on the rein grip ends. That said, I feel your discomfort, having stitched numerous veterinary probangs over the years which are around 8 foot long, at 6 stitches per inch…
