Do you suffer from rattling roller buckles on classic/vintage stalking equipment such as a roe or standard rucksack?

If so rather than remove the brass roller with pliers as I've done unnecessarily for years, purchase a few silicone 'O' rings of a suitable diameter and deploy as per picture:

talking of o, rings, i hear a lot of people losing there swarovski front covers on there bino,s, just get a couple of suitable size o rings, and put them on in front of your covers bs

This could/should be a well-populated and valuable resource of FOC info for the SD membership so do please keep them coming.

You know the sort of thing I mean, like how to convert a pair of contoured scope bases to fit a flat bottomed receiver using electricians tape as bund-like containment and Devcon two-part epoxy fluid. What I describe has comprised the surplace to requirement converted Redfield scope bases that have sat stop my 1960's Brno 22LR for the last 25 years and it still shoots to POA everyone time I get it out of the cabinet.

To avoid messing up the barrel finish by using a close fitting a moderator rear bush, I get the bushes turned a few thou' big & put a wrap of insulating tape on the barrel so that the bush fits snugly. It keeps water & dirt out too.

Powered Wilson trimmer

After being fed up with twiddling the cutter handle on my Wilson case trimmer when doing big batches of cases, I have added a sewing machine motor & fitted a pulley drive instead of the handle.
The sewing machine motor is perfect for this job & the foot pedal / speed control works well.
The belt & pulley is set to pull the cutter away from the case mouth by a couple of millimetres. The cut is made by simply pushing on the polished pulley end face with one finger.
Here's a link to a photo of it.

Good idea! I use a small o-ring on my sling swivel's, jus pop one on then screw it up normally. Could apply white grease in the roller with a brush or squeeze from a tube of fishing reel grease. Works well not messy like you would think & our climate means it never becomes runny!!
Bet there's a few here with multipliers & rods in the cupboard with a tube of Abu/Penn grease still in the box.....recycle ;-)
