4 sticks/5 sticks

For those that have the whistling Viperflex May I offer a cheap solution.
A quick search on eBay for the appropriate sized rubber grommets. I bought a bag of 100 for not much money then just popped one into each whistle and bingo - silence.
Yup - I’ve seen that in action and it does work. Or else why not put a wanted add on SD as someone might have the original clip ons in their shed. You never know until you ask.

I use the carbon stable sticks, I got a great deal online and glad I invested in them, I hope they last me a long long time!

I personally find them super light, the carbon doesn’t feel cold, keeping the digits warm.
I have had no issues with noise from banging together or into things! Certainly no whistling from wind. I find them easy to adjust on uneven ground. Whilst I don’t intend to fly with them the do break down very easily and come with a tidy storage/ carry bag. I find I store them broken down.

I would certainly recommend, they are worth a look if your in the market for some sticks.

I did nearly chose the Blaser sticks, as they are handy to make minor adjustments if your dear moves. I just found I prefer the Stable sticks rifle hold, and they were cheaper.

5 sticks? What’s next, full scaffolding 😂

I sometimes find it amusing stalking with people who, when they see a deer, start a small construction project to create a shooting platform from 400yds away, by the time they’re done, the deer is gone. But then, they also pack up like they’re going to war against deer, and expect the mission could last several days to weeks before returning to civilisation (although the farmer and shepherd will pass the same fields 3 times that day and 16 walkers).
Quad sticks p1ss me off, but I still bring limulus ones when a bit of reach is expected. I need to get around to burning them really, they make for too easy shooting, so you spend less effort crawling in close which is the exciting part, they’re noisy and scratch the stock, but they’re bloody good. Definitely need to burn them or give them to someone 😂

Happy to accept them as a donation to a good cause 🙏

While not sticks, I knocked up a rifle rest during Christmas using an old Surveyor's Tripod and using it to zero the .22 in the photos but also the.243 Not the kind of gear you would carry while stalking. I enjoyed making it and it turned out to be very useful.

Not able to post images for some reason ?

I haven’t had any other quads but someone gave me b&q sticks (that’s even cheaper than making them!) find them excellent and so much better than 2/3 sticks, have wondered about a fifth leg attachment after reading all this!

Used an old PANAVISE that was in the shed and gave it a spray with some bushes to get the camo look.

Also bought a trigger stick and really like that, easy to carry and REALLY useful when glassing. If you don't use sticks or some form of support when glassing Id recommend you try it I'm sorry I didn't take it up earlier in my Stalking.

I currently use the Mjoelner Fenris quad stricks. I will admit after using a set of the vipers with the 5th leg its an absalute game changer. They are just a bit pricey

You can clip a 5th leg on to Mjoelners, either the viper one or another brand. I bought a viper 5th leg for mind but hardly ever use it.
