Quad sticks?!?

Quad sticks, people. I need hands in experience and reviews please.

So currently I run the blaser quads sticks and like them but the front yoke has snapped, the grip handle on the front has split and is now failing with my spartan adapter in and the twist legs are pretty useless. All the rubber has come off and they are constantly twisting and failing by untightening.

I am keen on the spartan quad sticks and what an honest review. Bot a YouTube paid advert etc.

I have also looked at the hill quad sticks whoch I find quote interesting but not much info is on them.

I have thought about the trusty viper flex pros but my sauer has a rounded stock on the bottom and I dont fancy the slight movement I could possibly get especially with the longer shot.

Any advise is welcome. Please just dont recommend the viper flex even though I know they are great

Use the Garden cane and inner tube home made ones for the hill.

Getting covered in pest bog and don’t think anything of using them as a depth gauge on burns / bog is invaluable.

Have toyed with the idea of getting the spartan quad, but for the same reasons you find with the blasers, given the abuse they will get- cheap / semi disposable is better / more durable.

I am using twin V's made by @takbok b&q garden canes cut to suit then the kit is glued in.
Not expensive also spares available for the heavy handed

Id still go viperflex and if you are feeling even richer, go carbon and have warmer hands.

Can’t see the forend / flat yoke being a real issue in the real world.

I saw the Spartan quad sticks at the Shooting Show a few weeks back. It is dependent on your rifle having a Spartan mount on the front. The rifle sits into that and traversing is managed off the back rest.
With the magnet up front it is possible to lift rifle and sticks to reposition with less difficulty than with more traditional quad sticks.

Id go viper. Even with a rounded forend, because you cradle the forend with your hand, i doubt if you'll notice any "roll".
Having said this, i did get to try the hill quads for a day, and was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. Far easier to track a moving beast than the vipers, and still felt sturdy. My only hesitation about them is, will they last?

On my t3 I've got a stock with a rounded forend and I DON'T like the viper with it. Massive loss of stability. I do however like them with something with a flat forend.

The 4stable sticks I find better though. Lighter, easier to deploy and don't have that daft lever which doesn't seem to do anything 😂

Another vote for @takbok. Garden cane for economy or carbon for weight saving. You can customize them to you. And they will still be cheaper and probably better than anything you can buy off the shelf. I use the garden cane version and they are superb.....
Tempted by the carbon ones though.

I would go Blaser again, have a set and understand your issues but probably because they are worn out?

I looked at the Spartan too, friend has a set I think they come with a “V” attachment as well as the spartan attachment, maybe wrong.

I like them but they need a better clip for the release, it is very awkward to uk clip and bulky, with a very good chance of coming off and getting lost, a better design on that portion and I would buy a set.

I keep looking at the Hill ones. They look interesting.

As a side note, I have just performed a full strip down and service of my Mk3 Hill airgun pump. 17yrs it lasted. The service kit was only a little bit less than a cheapo chinese £30 new pump but it was pretty easy to service and it is such good quality and now back to its best.

Those sticks are very expensive though.

I have used the Mjolner Fenris Carbons for many years now. I am surprised they are still going, as when I got them I suspect the plastic parts that act as the opening/closing function looked to be the weak point but everything works the same as the day I got them and they have been used extensively, many hundreds of times, maybe even over a thousand outings. I really like the multitude of opening choices from lying down to sitting, kneeling and standing at various heights on various sloping terrains. The silicone yoke rests are good and you can strap the rifle into one or both yokes to remain hands free in sit and wait scenarios. I think I would like buy again if/when they break but I also would like to try those Hill sticks.

Blaser need to get their act together. Iv had a clients break theirs TWICE in the past whilst stalking with me without being heavy handed with them. Plus im firmly in the school of thought where you should always hold your forend, I don’t like how most people just hold the pistol grip on theirs and let the forend freely rest on top.

There are kits available on here to which you add the poles. As a step up from garden canes or the b&q metal ones, I’m considering if fibreglass is a more durable option than carbon fibre. I’ve never managed to break a fibreglass boat rod and not that much heavier than carbon.

I'm with you on this but, as many know on here I do advocate my Spartan "Ecosystem". However, what I do is given I use Spartan Universal Adapters on the fore-end on all my CF rifles, and I carry muzzle down, there's always the sling strap hanging down by the pistol grip. So having got muzzle flip with my first .270 a while back, I started holding the sling strap in my left hand against the pistol grip so I get the best of all worlds: for-end is controlled, muzzle flip obviated and I get the Blaser tracking 🤗

I think im going to get the spartan.

I have the spartan adapter already on my rifles so that part makes sense.

I wont be making my own, I have no motivation too (although alot cheaper i just rather buy something new and shiny haha)

I do really like the idea of the hill quads though. The reliability doesnt worry me because the company behind them is amazing. Its just the 2 levers that put me off. The spartan look solid enough

Personally been using them since about 2003/04 contact @takbok for one of his stick kits, you’ll never look back!

The blaser sticks are first class shite!
