Decent phone protection while stalking

So you leave your number one personal safety tool in the vehicle?
Yes.
I tell two separate people(wife and
Land owner) the rough area il be and roughly what time il be back.
If i was on new ground miles from anywhere and unfamiliar I would probably drop me phone turned off o
In a pocket.

Otterbox

With phone also put in (empty) dog poo bag or neoprene glove if it’s wet (as I’m a TNF kind of guy) 😂

I will be on the marsh tomorrow (often out on my own and the dogs) around a mile from the truck, things go wrong (Yes they do) you get cut off stuck in the thick mud. my phone will be in a zip lock plastic bag.
Does King Canute aka @Apthorpe still advocate leaving the phone in the car.

Fair enough. I put mine on silent and have location sharing on and share with my wife. That way she can track my exact position in real time.
If I was to lose consciousness or the ability to retrieve my phone from my pocket she would see lack of movement.
I don't sit in high seats but if I am sitting for more than half an hour I usually get s text (on vibrate) to check im OK.
As close as I can get to fail safe without spending a fortune on a Garmin Reach or similar.

I always carry my phone in chest pocket on lightweight fleece, normally wear smock for protection against weather over the top.. One added advantage is that I can feel the phone vibrate against chest if someone wants to contact me. (Phone always on silent so as not to disturb anything).
Phone always dry and its in a protective case, so pretty safe.

Tracked by my wife 😱😱😱, I fully understand, my phone goes all the time as am running a business so for me a few hours of peace and tranquility while out stalking is my no phone time.
Don't get me wrong there are instances when its just not viable to leave phone.

I just carry mine in my trouser pocket, if it's wet, waterproof overtrousers on top so you can still access the phone and if it's so wet that it comes through all that you are better off at home.
