He probably has one of those fishermen weighing scales, along with the same measuring tape, for the antlers.
Could be. I personally have never seen a stag cast this early despite having had my own herd for a few years and visiting the far North or East Anglia hind stalking at this time.
I did have a weird stag that never cast properly and new antlers grew round existing.
He was removed and was quite an aggressive animal, still roaring in December the year before his weird antler growth.

Last time I was sat in a highseat I probably had more deer in front of me at one time than you've shot in your entire life.
But do you know what? I really don't care what you think about how much I post on here. On the whole, people seem to like my content. What's more, I've made some very good friends and met some very interesting people as a result of being active on here. And I've learnt a lot.
Maybe friends is something you're lacking?

But do you know what? I really don't care what you think about how much I post on here. On the whole, people seem to like my content. What's more, I've made some very good friends and met some very interesting people as a result of being active on here. And I've learnt a lot.

No I will go further and say without doubt in my mind, that I shot more Deer over six hours at the weekend. Than you did out of that specific high seat with all those Deer in front of you..
Regarding friends I have tight circle of genuine trusted ones. I don't need no more than that
Now either get back onto the subject that this discussion is about. Or go write some drivel on some other subject. Maybe go play in your larder shed or something but watch those fingers again

I am not doubting that it may not have even had antlers, it is early. Will not be long before stags on the farm up the road start roaring, it will make a change from the lions up the other valley.

My best is 5 , these were in cover holly bushes , nice pay day at the dealers for a hours work.

Thing is Taff and im not knocking you in anyway.
It turns into more than an hours work when you take everything into account.
Extracting half a dozen red or fallow puts time on the clock.
Lardering, washing trucks off and general cleaning. Getting yourself in the shower,washing clothing. Then the run into the game dealer some time in the week.
It kind of takes the shine off pulling the trigger half a dozen times

I think I know where that high seat is Tim. I would loosely suggest you had over 1100 deer in view at any one time. I doubt our friend has shot half that number. I just wish certain landowners would do all in the area a favour and cull a lot more. You should see one or two of those 1120 lb Reds about there as well.

Fortunately for me we gralloched on site, head and feet off, into truck, all able to be driven straight to game dealer, into his chiller, wash out truck while waiting for the cheque, ok it took over a hour and my son was there to lift deer in with me , great feeling though as you know.Thing is Taff and im not knocking you in anyway.
