Headed back to the new permission last night where we got 2 last week.

Great news as the farmer said we can now shoot the whole estate which he farms consisting of 7500 acres plus we have another 2 adjoining farms making the area about 10000 acres , so happy days.

Only saw the 1 fox last night as it was blowing a gale, tiny vixen 😁

Top notch. Better get retiring then mate..another 10,000 acres ..that must be most of the NE now lol

Looks hung over
 
Checked the forecast tonight and discovered I could get a couple of hours before the rain with the HMR.

Shot a few rabbits and hares and then discovered a muck pile in the corner of a field with a few rats on it 😀

Just as I shot the 1st rat it started raining but I had to stay. Ended up shooting 9 rats and got bloody soaked but great fun 😁

Pitched up early for an overwatch. A quick scan as I stepped out of the truck showed a fox already at a bait pipe ! I already had the rifle cobbled together on the back seat so I took it out and quietly ( in a strong wind 🤷‍♂️) chambered a round. Up on the sticks around the back of the truck Charlene was looking my way. Sent it and wasn’t sure of a hit. The fox took off into a stubble field. However 50 yards out it slowed down and a quick “Oi” paused it for another, successful, shot. Mate shot another one there 4 hours later, he’s an insomniac. 4 within 150 yards of each other in 6 nights. This field just keeps on giving 🤣IMG_4960.webp
