Lithium ion battery?

Hello, Vape batteries, 18650, Looks like they overloaded how many were charging , These are the batteries people chuck in bins that catch fire , A chap i know had 2 in his pocket catch alight, Quite a few businesses in the building by all accounts so there lost, Do the Fire Brigade not check these shops ??

They’re not vape shops, they’re cover ups for money laundering, drugs, extortion, prostitution, fake cig sales, etc. same with every Turkish barber shop, etc.

Fire-brigade checking them 😂 would be nice, 😊

I say, how about the police check them, that should get them closed down even quicker. No, it’s not fair to raid and target ethnic minorities who have set up businesses on asylum seeker grants, and are just trying so hard to integrate with the local communities. 😂 esp, without any sign a crime is being committed.

A shop with zero turnover and zero customers, with three guys sitting in the gold clad barber chairs on their iPhones, with new BMW’s parked outside, yeah, that’s a flourishing and viable business, nothing dodgy there

Here’s Tuesday 😀

There's one of these local to me in Brechin. It's always open, and always empty. I must admit I've wondered about it no more than one occasion 🤔

While we are on batteries, rechargeable batteries for a makita 12 volt drill etc the red ones. I could only find knock off ones and I got them to get me out of a muddle but come a year round they failed.
Can you pull them to bits and out new cells in and if so we're do you get those cells.

I just assumed it had been a hash farm going up in smoke.......conveniently having bypassed the electricity meter, but the dodgy charger route does seem more likely. Felt sorry for all the small businesses that have gone down the pan.

Dont try it mate. They all tend to be welded packs so not worth the hassle . Also if you do this and burn your garage down then potentially the insurance company may investigate and find you at fault (unlikely I know but one to consider).

Agree with this. Plenty of videos of people doing it on YouTube but really when you factor in the man hours and risk, it's cheaper and safer just to buy new ones, even if that means a new drill.

I know battery drills are useful but certain styles of battery becoming redundant is irksome and expensive to upgrade in time. Whereas I can still use my Grandpa's Black and Decker main powered drill.

The last thing anyone should consider is approaching a lithium battery fire. Seriously!
Firstly, they can’t be extinguished with normal means.
Secondly, the chemical content is lethal - one fully inhaled breath will permanently damage your health - they emit hydrogen fluoride, phosphorus flouride, heavy metal (cobalt, nickel etc), volatile organic substances known to cause cancer etc etc.
Finally, as all these gasses are emitted and built up quickly, the thermal runaway causes explosions of great energy.
My advice; run like your life depended on it - it does.

Well I'm vintage so I dug out my vintage Yankee and gave it a squirt of lube.
And best of all I even remembered were I had put the tip that took posidrive bits and got finished.
Funny thing is I probably haven't used it in anger for twenty plus years and I thought my memory was shot as I can't remember names etc etc etc.😂
