Replace the fitted leatherette ties with some paracord and one of those sliding up and down toggle things.

It stays on my head just fine without any lashing on and I am totally bald headed so have similar issues to you with wooly hats. As someone said earlier getting one the right size for your bonce is key.

Very warm these snug nuts are too. Ideal for those sitting still shoots.

Alternatively fit said paracord ties to the hat you already have. But you may look special.

I regularly (every couple of days), use a bear trimmer on what remains of my hair. Th8s way, it’s never smooth, always slightly spiky, and I never loose my hats.
I always buy slighty stretchy beanie type hats, but they are always over my ears (as that’s what gets cold) and They never ride up

Question for my fellow follically challenged brothers - how do you keep wooly hats on your head?? I find they gradually just creep up & up my head, so either constantly pulling it down or it just rests on top of my head like a pointy little island!! Any grips or anything? Or can someone suggest a different style that covers head & ears??

I have this problem!

Narrow pointy bald head. Beanies often slide upwards.

My solutions: (a) get a hat that’s a bit big. As others have said, the tension in snug beanies pulls them upwards. (b) keep what’s left of your hair trimmed to the Velcro stage.

I got a cheap fleece one off Amazon, and it works perfectly. I also have a very heavy duty Kuiu hat, with a bit of a dip down over the ears. That comes on when it’s really miserable, and it’s magic.

This one. Expensive, but my god it’s toasty. Amazing on really windy days or driving a quad etc

A Buff beanie has been the best non slip I have had. Also have a very thin beanie designed for under a ski helmet that stays in place.

I feel your pain and those mocking you should have more respect for those with more testosterone than they have!

well i'm 55 now and still have my hair but it's thinning now but i keep it short anyway since i'm gorgeous with or without hair (have i mentioned i have a couple of creedmoors?)

as suggested already flaps is the way forward , either flying hat style or classic deer stalker

luckily my head is massive and square so no issues with hats riding up the only issue is finding hats big enough !
