Section 1 shotguns banned soon ??

Not true at all. Mine is conditioned for vermin.
This baffles me ,every time ive renewed my FAC for the last ten years ive tried to get my section 1's for vermin but would only let me use them for practical target shooting . Is there somthing specific you requested it for or just vermin control and what part of the uk are you from ? If you dont mind me asking .
Police Scotland is the force i deal with and they have always said no. I can use the two of them on ranges no problem just not for vermin control.

Two professional keeper friends of mine have 9 shot 12 bores conditioned for vermin control.
Both in Northamptonshire.
Ive got a ten shot semi auto and an 8 shot pump action , i do all the vermin control on two different farms and an estate yet still cant get them . I'm going to try again

I struggle to think of any occasion when an 8 shot or more magazine is needed for vermin control

It may be wanted for vermin control, but it is not needed for vermin control.

You don’t need anything more than a .22lr for fox control, but that doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t be more effective with a decent centerfire.

Loads of time decoying crows/jack doors I will fire more than 3 shots at a bunch. With 3 shots you might average 2 out of a bunch, I will often fire 5/6 shots and kill 4 or 5. Might result in a bag of 400 opposed to a bag of 300. Makes a big difference over multiple days

I'd only use the pump action to be honest , the semi auto is in an AR 15 style ,Definetly wouldnt go down well if somone in the public seen me walking about with it.

DIsagree with the .22lr fox bit especially when shooting at distance .243 or
.223 for me all day . .22l good for short distances. 100 m plus nope

Boll*cks.

Not unusual to get 3 pigeons for 5 shots, jackdaws in farmyards similar. If you have large numbers coming in to shoot it is a useful tool. Also very useful if lamping heavy rabbit numbers from the back of a vehicle.

I should have mentioned 5 shots, put kept previous post to one line. Yes five shots I can see can be useful

But I have never ever encountered a situation where I needed or anyone else would need a magazine of 8 or 10 capacity. Nothing likes getting shot at, most are well gone after a two or three shots, even a mob of 200 daft feral pigeons swirling around a stock shed will be out of range after three, four or five shots.

Very Large mag capacity is not needed for anything. It’s usually a ****ing contest between young ‘professionals’ as to whose gun has the bigger mag capacity. Naivety must keep Benelli in business
