The out yesterday or today thread and...

I've noticed this morning that the corvids are well and truly egg hunting. Albeit for woodpigeon eggs, a pair of the black menace have spent an hour hunting a row of ivy covered poplars, the woodies are going bonkers, shame the syndicate that operates there doesn't do any trapping.

Nowt doing at night so went out pre dawn for a change and to look for roe and Charlie.
Nada! Not even a print. Jess didn't do any marking either.
I took the Winchester with me. Absolutely love carrying that. It's so nice to carry.
On the way back I got a squirrel with it.
Enjoy the photo, they'll be a thing of the past soon...

Up at 3 in the morning on Sat to have a last "local" trip for fallow. Need 30 mins for cereal and a coffee then just over an hour drive and enough time to try and find the fallow before first light. As always I never seem to allow enough time so had to take a brisk walk to get into position. Group of 3 in an awkward spot and another 3 in a better spot. Shot the first and the 3 turned into 20 so managed a second and third...which given they were 400 yards from where I could get the truck .. was enough. Next 30 or so mins on recovery 👍

Lovely drag, get yourself a cart 👍
:) Nice clean grass and downhill for the first 300 yards then got the wheelbarrow for the last bit. Keep thinking about a cart but most of the time I can borrow a quad. The wheelbarrow worked nicely ....may take this with me in future...makes me smile going down a field with fallow in a wheelbarrow....feral way of doing it :lol:

Popped out local this evening to see what bucks were showing ready for April . 1st field held 2 bucks , 1 clean and 1 in velvet .

Stalked down edge of a wood and came across a yearling doe so she was taken.

Then saw another buck in velvet. Continued to next field and had another yearling doe walking straight towards me , I sat down and she came to within 5 yds of me. She wasn't sure what I was and then decided to walk away , with rifle on my knee she got to 20yds and stopped, 2nd yearling doe in the bag.

Heading back to the car saw another 2 clean bucks so looking good for next month 😁

Tidy job there mate. If I was 5 yards away from you and you were in a hedge I would need a minute to figure out what you were as well   🥰
