Caught Today

Any tips for rabbit cages would be much appreciated, not had any luck so far...
Pre bait the area, if they dont eat free offeringsnof carrot or cabbage there is too much good grub about.
Depending on where you are new grass maybe a better option than the bait.
Middle of the summer when the grass is dead or in hard frost are the times ive done best

Many reading will know - but for the few that maybe dont - a top tip is to move a trap if its not catching - even 10/20 yards can make a difference
Case in point tonight - pulled up at the traps - nothing , but i saw 2 crows in a big oak only 50 yards away
Moved a trap under it - 2 crows 10 minutes later

How do you catch your call bird magpie?
In the past I've always got one from someone else.
I have tried the likes of making a nest of eggs in the otherwise unbaited Larson trap but not been successful.
Anecdotal evidence of how to tempt a magpie ( or carrion crow) into a Larson trap that doesn't contain a call bird would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Teddy bear with big glass eyes works. And to bring them in a couple of 8mm nuts in an old plastic film canister (kodak camera film) pop the lid on give it a quick shake and you have the perfect kakakaka sound of a magpie

out of great interest, what do people call this? i know what iv always called them, but said to my mate the other day i had a >>>>>>>>>>>>>> and hes never heard of it, another friend a while ago was shocked at what i referred to it as, i have no idea if its a local saying or a well known country wide saying, either way, to me it will always be a black mans pinch

That's gotta be a 10 pointa!

One of my crows in a Larsen, placed up on top of a hedge to keep it off the ground, had a broken wing at the shoulder joint. Something had tried pulling it through the mesh during the night as checked twilight on way out foxing and then checked again on the rounds just after dawn.
Still,on the bright side, and extra Larsen for magpies now👍
