Stolen Trail Cameras

I’ve just had two trail cameras stolen by some thieving b*+*+*+d.

So I set up two cameras in a very secluded spot, way out of anyones walking path (at least that what I thought) and both have been stolen.

There’s no way anyone would be in there unless doing like wise. But I had been observing the area for months and hadn’t seen anyone or anything similar. Supposedly I’m the only person with permission.
Now I’m wondering if someone else had cameras up and seen me putting mine in place and stole them.

The were relatively cheep ones but served the purpose I used them for.

Obviously no use to them as there a code lock to use them. So the only thing is the SD card. Otherwise they’ll be just binned.

Just disappointed to lose them.

Night vision will show up infra red so trail cams can easily be spotted that way too…. There’s always someone to let the side down, no need for it. Maybe antis too?

Its very annoying when this happens, but was this on your own land, did you have permission or the landowners consent to put the cameras out?
I ask this as ive found trail cameras set up to monitor legally set traps, crow pens etc, without consent . What would you do in this instance? I know what i do.

Sorry to hear that. I only have two trail cams but they are marked FC No 5 & 6, in the vain attempt to make people think twice before lifting them.

Also been secured by 200lb shark wire that would require plyers to remove.

Captured numerous people in the deepest darkest woods where they shouldn’t be, but thankfully been lucky thus far.

You can screw them into whatever your base is (like a large tree) and use a cable lock to attach the camera.

An elephant kicked one in when we used them for anti poaching ops in the Far East and after sending in the last picture captured on said camera along with the crushed trail cam, Bushnell sent us a new set, gratis!

Depending on how much you want to deter future attempts at theft, these can also be electrified with a little know-how :norty:

Best site is as high as you can make it - out of eye line and more importantly reach!
I have always put a label inside saying “You have stolen this camera but there are other cameras in this area - if it is not returned within 24 hrs all footage will be forwarded to the Police”.

I think the IR night vision can see trail cameras, maybe this is how they are finding them, might them have repositioned them and be watching you?

Three cameras, one blatantly obvious, one watching the obvious one that is discreetly mounted, and one watching that one even more discreetly hidden, one usually catches them.
