Cellular Trail Camera which one??

Interesting - both of mine are in poor signal areas and one down a steep wooded valley. Signals are not strong (one is always red) but they work.
Ah, good point - I think when I bought my FLEX there was only one model but now there is a whole range of FLEX cameras so there are probably different versions. I really rated my LTEs and still have one going strong and it must be 4+ years old.

I found my original flex would take photos of nothing very regularly; regardless of setting. I know they all do if the sun passes over them at a particular angle but never had the issue to this degree with multiple previous spypoint or other makes. It would literally take a full month's worth of free pics in an afternoon for no reason. One of the seals then went on it and let water in so it wouldn't recognize the SD card or send images. Bring it home, dry it out and it would be fine again.

I gave up on it in the end and it's sat on the shelf in the office gathering dust.

Non Cellular Option.

It’s interesting reading through the forums as it seems most who have owned Spypoint and then tried the Zeiss cameras will now only use Zeiss and not go back to Spypoint.

At under £100 for the secacam 3 it seems to be a really good buy

Only thing that would make me go for the Spypoint is the free 100 photos per month, there is no free subscription option from Zeiss

Currently paying Zeiss £8.82 p a month for up to 750 photos and 20 videos. That camera is 40 mins from home- would cost more than that to check the camera once a month. Currently getting photos daily of what is passing the camera.

Using a Zeiss Secacam 3 at the moment. So far it’s sending me 5-20 photos a day and over 2 weeks the batteries are still at 60%.

I like the app functionality too.

Have realised I’ve a serious fox problem that I need to fix before spring/buying more poultry!

Just to throw it out there I’ve bought some cheapies from Amazon. Xega 4g with a solar charger for £38.
It’s been fine to set up, you have to pay £12 a month for the subscription per camera or £90 for the year, and you have unlimited live streaming and photos.

I’ve only just started using one to see how it goes. I’m sure the image isn’t as good as some, but it’s fine to see what type of deer they are etc. does get rain spots on the lense but I imagine they all do when exposed.

I haven’t used an app or 4g cam before but the functionality seems well though out.

I have no idea who I have given access to my phone by using the app! But that’s modern life I suppose.

Nice clear image on the Secacam there 👍

You know what really hacks me of with Spypoint is the price of them here in the UK when you compare the prices to them in the US. The exact same camera and so much cheaper. We are clearly getting our pants taken down here in the UK

Best of getting the Zeiss Secacam 3 for under £100 in my opinion

Every time you open the App the splash screen is a shot showing the camera I use with the US price below - talk about rubbing it in

I hope that's right, I have just got two more.🤣

I’ve just purchased a Secacam 3 myself.

I have always been Spypoint, micro and flex user so will be interesting to see how it compares.

So far the Secacam is looking good, nice clear images and the app is good to use. It feels a good quality bit of kit.

After a month or so of use I will put up a review to see what i have found good/bad about each camera

Had been delighted with mine on the basic plan, unfortunately a couple of days ago the included photos must have run out and in spite of paying for 500 prepaid credits in the middle of January, they all stopped transmitting.

I’m using a spypoint cellular, only been sitting out for a month, but with the rain we have been having…….
Anyway, day images are ok, night images aren’t great. Possibly the settings, I will have a look next time I get out there to look.
