I am just wondering if anyone on here has any experience using the Secacam rechargeable battery pack? Just wondering how much longer they are getting over using say decent AA batteries

I have used the Spypoint rechargeable battery packs before and noticed they last a lot longer than even duracell AA batteries

I have one battery pack and three cameras using the supplied Varta batteries. These cameras are so light on batteries I wouldn't bother with a battery pack again. However,in my opinion you will be doing yourself a big favour avoiding Duracell and sticking to Varta batteries.

Look into 12v 7ah battery, these go into watertight project box's with cable glands and barrel jack plug. i have 2 on the go plus 2 solar panels of Amazon, all working fine since December.

Just one more point, my battery pack cost £55 and makes the theft risk greater as the Secacam is valueless to anyone not in possession of the original registration code.

If you do use a 12v 7ah battery you will need the below adapter, cut the usb end off and replace with relevant spade end connectors to match +/- you will obviously need to check polarity

5V 1A USB 2.0 to 4.0mm x 1.7mm DC Barrel Jack Charger Power Cable Adaptor

I found this with correct spade and in built battery to panel

👍 check the voltage, i read it as only 6v supply, i think you need 12v.

The solar panels do have the correct connector, if you where using 12v lead acid then use other connecter.

Secacam 3 operates on a standard 12v external power supply, minimum 2A. It uses a 4.0x1.7mm or 4.0x1.6mm hollow plug, with the positive pole on the inside.

This then should work without need to cut wires. 3.5W Solar Panel with 5200mAh Battery for Trail Cams | GardePro SP350
