Is this a sign of the times 🤷‍♂️ me & a mate have shot the golden grouse for 20 years +
Back in the day entrance fee was x£ bite to eat + 100 cartridges we are supporter's .
Few years back they stopped supplying cartridges…. Still a good day out it’s a clay grounds now .but back in the early days was old quarry’s .
We found out about 3 years ago that the golden pheasant were still supplying cartridges 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ we pay the same fees but getting less
Fast forward they now have to supply there own cartridges & it’s folded it’s a shame as it’s only 100 bird day
Any thoughts 💭

There was a time when estates would generally pay for the ‘Keepers to attend this type of thing. It was a good day out and a great chance to catch up. I haven’t been to one for years but I do recall it was starting to get taken a bit seriously and dominated by clay shooters with only loose links to ‘Keepering?

I did read on another group that the organisers were urging the NGO to let it go ahead as they were confident that there would be sufficient entries on the day; maybe they will reconsider?

Yer but if only open to gamekeepers there would only be a hand full there that’s why they split into categories 🤷‍♂️
