Out last night.

Thanks @palmer_mike , these 110gn Barnes look promising.
More testing to follow because I missed with first shot but in the confusion and noise he offered a second shot, which didn't miss but, and @Foxyboy43 won't like it, I lost a case!

Spotted about 400 yards away and as he was occupied playing with something he had caught I got down to about 75 yards.

Red light like zee good ol' days.

A first for me- anyone else seen this before?
10 or 15 minutes ago, I was watching the unusual sight of a Hedgehog in the field behind the house, through the thermal spotter. Saw a fox enter the field and got my 222 out of the cabinet, just in time to see it depart. A much smaller fox then entered the field through the opposite hedge, making a beeline for the Hedgehog. It pawed repeatedly at the hog's back but was interrupted by 50 grains of Sako softpoint.

But foxes only take young, sick or weak lambs
He mustn’t have got the memo
Got a few messages about lambs missing while I was away at the show
Hopefully sorted one problem Tuesday night and all but certainly sorted one problem last night with the culprit caught in the act

Well done. Totally agree with your point ...foxes will take good sized singles if they are motivated enough. The concept of them taking small and weak is true on occasion but not always. I shot a pair of vixens who I caught red handed ... ewe had just lambed and the first fox headed in front almost to distract the ewe and the second fox was straight in and had the newborn by the throat. Another vixen was killing 6-8 day old lambs and some big ones at that...took me about 3 weeks to catch up with her.

Keep up the good work.
