An improved Sika stag call and reds from

NZ.

Roar in full swing in NZ now. Best seller at the Sika Show. Easy to get the hang of.

Versatile calls; stag territory, single/location and mew plus hind location, alert and oestrus bleat baaaa can be accomplished with a bit of practice.

For Sika Stag choke the and and blow hard, it causes the reed to produce a fluctuating high pictch exaclty like a Sika stag then open the end and softer for the gruff rasp growl at the end, similar for the hehaw.

The resonance tube is able to be removed silently by removing it slowly.

Slide the flexible tube off the tube holder for hind calls by choking the end of the tube holder. Can also produce a deeper hind call with the tube on so you get 2 animals.

Very handy feature in both red and Sika country that no other caller offers. For red hind extend the reed on the sound board and wedge back in place. Blow softer/slow so its more like a red hind mew and remove the tube to assist for red stag roar and adjust the red for red hind by extending the reed further past the end of channel and shift the wedge further away fron the end of the soundboard. That deepens the Sika hind call to more of a mew. Like a red hind. Mark your reed and soundboard with black permanent pen for your favorite tones for reference when you switch back. Cafeful not to bend the reed.

If you ever do ever bend the made in USA mylar reed you can rebend it back by gripping end of the reed betwen thumb and finger the grip it with other hand between thumb and finger close to the held grip point and pull the reed through piching hand and bend it the opposite of the bent reed from so the mylar memory will leave it straight again.

It's a typical .010 inch thickness mylar available from most hunting shops and we have extras for sale.

The whistle body and tube are screwed together tight so there is no possibility of them separating like other calls that use press together parts.

Orange soundboard and wedge parts are easier to see if dropped.

Chanel groove for lanyard attachment with a loop hole to keep lanyard more secure.

Doesn't air lock when wet.

Weighs only 22 gms.

We made many many prototypes before we were happy with the tone.
Available exclusively here; Best Sika deer call
Also have a good fallow call.

Hey there, According to UK customs over 135 pounds gets the UK govt tax treatment.
The call plus freight is $57 pounds approx.
You could include our Skoner knife and thats 119.87 Pound sterling approx.
You can see the amount in NZ $ and convert in the checkout.
Cheers
Simon

Ordered one, will update. Came to £57ish and only just clocked the bit about the tax threshold or would have ordered more!

Edit- @Simon NZ if there was a marginal discount for multibuys it might even be possible to order three at a time and remain below the threshold which might make more UK sales possible as people could club together.

Shorten the flexy tube by trimming some off. The tone is improved for Sika. We left it long for red stags and by lengthening the distance of the reed past the end of the channel and or shift the wedge away from the end of the channel it deepens the Sika hind call for a red hind mew. You can find the flexy tube at plumbing stores its 22mm ID and you can to carry a couple of tubes. Can also compress the tube to make it shorter.
Lots of nuances including changeing the shape of the .010 mylar reed so you have a whole herd of deer in the pocket. That mylars available everywhere.
It even works with our PET business cards. Insanely easy vs simlar calls to tune.
If you get a prefered tone mark where the mylar and is disposed on the orange soundbaord with indelible pen for easy reference.

I think I could probably also use it for roe based on early attempts with it and part blocking the end.

Appreciate the advice - will keep practicing and see if I can get some more lengths.

Try shifting the wedge toward the channel end and choking it with the tube removed.
Our business card is PET and about .3mm thick. It vibrates fast so will make a good high pitch whistle. Just cut it same shape as reed supplied.

Got to work out where that's gone!

Didn't send that as you just educated me on it. It's an example of options.
In future will cut some and send in the call for Roe option.
Keep an eye out for PET of that thickness and business cards for testing.
We also make an extra whistle ; Sika caller

The one with the slide on tube is a bit better for hind calls than the screw on but the screw on is a bit better for stag call.
Tone is affected by the tube design, size, length and material.
