Zippo lighter drying out constantly

Take the insides out and replace with tampax. It’ll keep more fuel and last 20 or 25 minutes longer. Zippo’s are just crap generally. Even as a smoker they were a pain in the arse to maintain.
I carry an electric plasma lighter now. It came free with a torch I bought. It’s like a tiny wee taser. I also carry a ferrocium rod, a fire piston (ignites an ember with compressed air) and some fire lighting mushrooms and bark.
I can’t remember the last time I lit a fire.

I have done the same carry it every day have done for a few years, I dont smoke now but this lasts months for what I use it for, no more evaperation, zippo's own site have them now different styles even one for pipe smokers
Have one of the Zippo turbo inserts in mine as got fed up with it being dry whenever I needed to use it (non-smoker so not in constant use). Also a lot better to use when there’s a bit of wind about
