STOLEN - "too hot to handle"

Good news indeed. They must surely lose their tickets 🤭

I went ratting last night, the yard had an extra couple of Ifor trailers parked up in it, complete with towing 4x4 to block them in... turns out they belonged to the owner's brother who has taken a couple of tractors to the East Anglian gamefair, he won't leave them parked up on the site as he's worried history will repeat itself and they will go walkies.... You have to be vigilant.

Hope East Anglican game fare doesn't have same security on the door ,, they'll probably load up for the thieves as well as hold open the doors for them 🤦

Really pleased to have been able to read about the positive outcome for you. As others have said, let’s hope the British justice system prevails & they get suitable punishment.

As for walking among us, I had a pair of Knobloch sticks ‘disappear’ after using them for a club training day. The person who took them was a fellow club member & was brazen enough to be using them at a shoot I ran later in the year 😳 Also had Peltor electronic ear defenders vanish without trace.

Just dreadful I also see a SD member had all his cash stolen from a sealed cargo pocket they cut the pocket with a knife. He posted on a thread after the show.
D
Happens regularly at Stafford show ground functions apparently. My mate was there (at a cage bird sale)3 weeks ago and was relieved of £280 by someone cutting his trouser pocket.Secuity staff pointed out 6 blokes all dressed the same (smart dark shirts and trousers) .”When we check them they never have money on them ,4 stay in the show but 2 of them are always outside getting rid of the money”They found my mates wallet empty of course just dropped on the floor in the main hall.Security said “they are from the travellers camp just down the road”.

Have they been convicted yet? Otherwise that’s a bit risky in terms of legal knock back of slander etc?
It’s a dangerous game to name, also for the risk of becoming a personal vendetta target
I’m sure there are ways to ensure the names just become ‘common knowledge’…

Reputational damage is a very powerful weapon in this sector!

Legal convention is that they should be named on being charged (as opposed to merely arrested - although there are some exceptions, chiefly related to public safety).

The police normally announce the full legal name, age, occupation and address of those charged (these details are intended to obviate confusion with persons of similar name), unless there are good reasons not to do so (eg the person being underage). Then, when and if the case goes to court, the proceedings can be reported in full (unless the judge imposes reporting restrictions, which is rare). If the accused are eventually exonerated, or convicted, then this should be a matter of public record. The local (or sometimes national) media generally carry such reports.

In this case, the alleged crime was reported here on this forum as part of an appeal for vigilance and information. Thankfully, this seems to have aided the recovery of the gear and apprehension of the alleged criminals. If anybody is actually charged, then the bare facts should certainly be reported here, perhaps by means of a link to a police statement. The same should apply to any court proceedings and conclusion - whether exoneration or conviction.

In this current climate I'd imagine the Police would relieve the suspects of their firearms immediately whilst making their enquiries

Well done on retrieving your stuff Barry 👍

May the wheels of fate grind them exceedingly small.

I would hope that a) given they are FAC Holders and b) the police know their identity and hopefully have sufficient evidence that a jury would find them guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, that they will get their just reward.

In the hands of the British justice system means that you'll need better security next year when they come back for seconds.
I was reading of a gang of 4 that robbed a site of 50k of tools and copper wire that got a combined sentencing of 34 months and the article was describing this as some sort of triumph.
🤞they at least loose FAC & SGC's
