Police request to remove a photo from facebook for renewal

More like they specifically looked because of the renewal. Just think how under resourced the police are in terms of licensing as it is. Not to mention not investigating burglaries etc.

Even with AI, someone has then got to look at it and make a decision.

Seeing the home office is using something 75% of their resources on Islamic Extremism, Dave at the clayground would be very far down the list.

It’s on the list of requirements from the HO for FLD’s to check d

While it might appear at first glance to be a bit of an overstep, I think sometimes advice is given based on specific threat information they may have received, that members of the public do not have access to.

Do you think the FLO would ask the British Olympic team to not appear on tv....

I bet most houses are harder to get into than some of the RFDs on the industrial estates where its just a corrugated clad wall and a glass cabinet full of guns.

Ridiculous.
Oh I don't know, we knocked down the clay ground after the 2012 olympics

Hello, You have been granted a renewal but what about next time they might ask again ? They do have the upper hand, If it were me although i do not have any pics on Social Web sites i would remove it ,
On the contrary I'd tell them their fortune. Parliament makes the laws, not FLDs

I think they are being over cautious. Basc send out the magazine in an envelope that does not hide what the contents are. Everyone in the chain from the printers to my postie will know there is a high chance that my address has guns.
We’ll have to not drive pick ups or dress in shooting clothes in case word gets out. Carry our rifles in guitar cases.

Given that my neighbours only have to look out the window to see me carrying rifles and shotguns to the motor, I may be too late for the guitar case

God knows folk can see me from the passing bus as well 😂

It sounds like an over reach by the FEO, bit like the recent debacle with West Mercia and making their own rules for granting sec 1 shotguns. I understand its only one photo but where do we draw the line and I am totally with @VSS, we should be responsibly promoting instead of trying to find new ways to be invisible in case someone is offended.

Absolutely, the more that we allow ourselves to be browbeaten by the authorities in this manner the more the general public will see our activities as abnormal.
Only a few weeks ago near to me, a couple of airgunners practicing with the owners permission on farmland , were subject to being interrupted by a squad of armed police, just because a "concerned member of the public" had reported their presence!
