TVP new application/ renewal portal

I've just completed my renewal application for both my ticket's on the new TVP licencing portal.
Apart from a couple of self inflicted operator errors, the new system was easy to use.

On the plus side you can save your uploaded information and go back to the application when ever you like.
I started mine on the 13th and completed it on the 17th, with a few breaks in between to get permission letters signed by the land owners etc.
The only negative side of the system and Im aware they are trying to address, is your passport photo file size.
The file cannot be larger than 50kb, so you end up with a blurred and distorted image uploaded.
Which makes no sense as on the next page you upload your current fac and or shotgun cert and this ends up with a file size of 8mb.

Not sure if the new portal will make the system more efficient, one can only hope it cuts the delays that have built ups historically.

Saving progress is a game-changer, my recent Cumbria renewal was lightning quick but the online form was a pain being a 'one shot' affair.

Im in TVP as well and up for renewal in 6 months time, when you get your medical letter do you scan that and send somehow, also you say you need a signed letter from
a land owner, I was in Northants before and didn't need that , but maybe TVP is different

I got my medical through medicert and just uploaded the file to the portal.

You need confirmation of where your going to use your rifles from a club or a landowner.

I done a form in Word stating farms, landowners names and mobile numbers, acres, and all farms are open for any calibre ( from previous renewals ) printed them off and got the landowners to sign and date.
I then uploaded them to the portal.

Get your referees details to hand and upload the info.

Each firearm, moderator and shot gun has to go into a separate page, that you have to open after completing each item.
When you've got 6 rifles, 6 moderators and 5 shotguns.... it's time consuming.

The bonus is the fact you can just drop in and out of the application, save pages or delete and redo sections if you've made an error, hence why I done mine over a 5 day period

I renewed both my tickets with TVP last year, and the process couldn't have been easier.

I uploaded the medical letter but not the landowner one - as I recall they say on the portal something along the lines of “you can upload a letter from the landowner, and if you do it may expedite the process”. However it’s not mandatory, and I didn’t bother.
