I've had some good results when its been a full moon (or between 93% and 100%
).Generally tuck up under a hedge in the shade and try and make sure they don't get too close
Yes it was beautiful was it not! roasting..... but three quarter moon surley...... saw a few hares and rabbits and a roe doe came out of a small spiney saw me starred for quite a while then went off when she realised I was a human and she ought to go her own way. no fox about though.

I dont think it helped that there was no wind (well ... no noticeable wind in case anyone claims it was 3 mph from the east
) .

30+ mph winds last night on the moor top, unable to keep steady behind the rifle on sticks so sacked it off at 11pm.
Picture from a while back, went back early doors after shooting a fox the previous night with the other tearing at the shot one.
Saw a farmer friend a few hours ago, whilst walking the dog. He told me he'd meant to phone me last week as he'd cut a couple of fields. Back home for the 222 with Drone Pro. 5 minutes of lip squeeks and this small dog fox responded, taking his final sit down 204 yards away.
