Hi guys im looking out for user experience with the mdt field stock, I am considering one for a howa 1500 and my o ly concern at the moment is how good/durable are the polymer Mlok slots......or are they over moulded aluminum......id prefer metal to metal contact is using them

Ive got an arca rail on mine using the polymer m-lok slots, and have attached it to a vanguard endeavour tripod and arca mount .No issues at all. Rifle is a tikka t3 with a 20 inch varmint profile, DPT mod and a full fat alpex on top.So no undersized supermodel........
 
I have one on a Howa 1500 and have an arca rail for mounting a bipod with no issues. I believe the slots are just solid polymer and there is a full length aluminium spine moulded in under the barrel and receiver.

Almost identical to my experience except for a different barrel profile. Had no issues at all.
 
I had one and used the m-lok push button bases for mounting a biathlon sling. I’ve since sold the stock but im sure I had to drill and install a Grovtec hollow stock base for the bottom base. The M-lok front was solid, just get good hardware and make sure the m-lok locking bars are aligned properly and blue loctite in place.
 
I have one and love it! This is my second Howa and on my last one I tried, GRS fenris, MDT Orxy and a Boyds Thumbhole. The field is a 9/10 the only thing I would say is the recoil pad is as hard as I’ve ever came across. The GRS Fenris used a limbsaver which was luxurious

Guess I just need to decide on what color to get
 
What calibre is your Howa? If it's.223 you will need to make a modification to the the bolt stop mechanism in order to feed the rounds for the AICS magazine. This is a simple mod and there are videos on the MDT site.

Thats strange, I never had to do anything to mine apart from fettle the polymer magazine a little to make it click in properly.
 
I adjusted by mag release by adding a wee washer to the trigger guard but this is a problem of my making as I am using Bergara magazines which are “AICS adjacent”

Its going to be a 6mm XC but I had a .223 that I had to do the bolt mod to👍
