‘New’ Bergara BA13

Having a look round for a new single shot rifle and keep reading the following about the BA13…

“This new single shot rifle equipped with a Bergara Stainless Barrel and an improved shooting system. This way we get a much more stable rifle, improving the accuracy. In addition is a very easy to use rifle.

The stainless barrel is fluted and threaded. They barrels are button rifled, after being deep drilled and honed, with technologically most advanced machinery.

Opening system is also new, softer and more ergonomic.”

Can anyone tell me what this ‘improved shooting system’ is and how the opening system differs from previous rifles ?

I have just bought one for my wife in .243.

The youtube videos pretty much tell the whole story, there isn't nothing magic to it, it's a guard release to open the breach and it works quite well, I don't feel like it's slower than a bolt if you have a presida pouch velcroed onto the side of the chamber.
One caution, I am not fond of their picatinny rail mounts, 4 tiny screws into the barrel wall and I don't know how well it will cope long term with the scope I have on it as it doesn't look robust.
It's already jumped once and I am already thinking about bigger and better screws with cost for same.

I’ve owned a couple of BA13’s in the past, so know them well enough. Just wanting to know what the “improved shooting system” is.

Call Spain, cut out the middle man is likely the winner.

IIRC I replaced the factory fitted one with a Durasight one piece mount from the US. Still uses the same fixings.

Contacted Ruag, they have not heard anything about a ‘new shooting system’ but are going to ask Bergara if there have been any changes to the BA13

“The only factory improvement for the BA13 is the machined steel rail, (included in the camo strata offering) for obtaining better performances.”

So much for the ‘new’ shooting system !

Old thread I know, but is the afore mentioned Steel Rail referring to the Picatinny rail?
