#1281 & #1282, 571 Model, Matched Pair

The 571 was a model that we made back in the day, we used to call it the 'Straight Back', it sports a 3" blade length.

The pair were made for a father and teenage son, both avid field sportsmen, the elder a knifemaker too, the younger is rapidly getting into it.

I like to think these reworks of the old patterns that I make are brought bang up to date, everything will be a little better than it used to be, fit and finish, that type of thing.

Todays market is a different one and some knives can command a higher price, a higher price means more time can be spent on them, more time spent on them should make them better, potentially justifying that higher price, hopefully?!

Bolsters/guards in this instance are 304SS, Walnut scales (supplied by the client), thin red liners.

An 'original' from my own collection, second from the right.

There's loads of heritage and good old fashioned family love in those two comments Stuart.
Fantastic work now and then, and into the future. Stunning craftsmanship :thumb:

Cheers, Mick
