Have a slot for a 204 , looking around there doesn't appear to be many 204 manufacturers anymore, have seen some Ruger american gen 2 , has anyone got one of these ? Are they any good, and what is the trigger like , or am I better looking at having a rebarrel 204 , would be used for night time foxing cheers

Give @Edinburgh Rifles a shout.

A guy who used to shoot in my club has his Remy 700 in .204 parked there for sale. Believe he's just given up shooting for other, more expensive past times... (Flying...)

Knowing Ed, he's probably got more than just 1 squirreled in there as well.

I have a ruger american ranch in 300blk, trigger is fine and can be made better cheaply, factory stocks at least the one on mine are terrible so factor in a replacement if it hasa rotary mag, walk away. I put a magpul hunter lite and use aics mags on mine and it transformed the shooting, the bolts are a little on the agricultural side but can be made smooth with lapping paste. There are certainly better rifles than rugers, you can likely get a shot out .222/.223 or similar bolt face rifle with a decent stock, put a decent barrel on and have a semi custom rifle for about £1k

I thought you were going all Tikka :-|:-|... Like M people sang.. Moving on Up... I normally get the wrong end of the stick :scared:
Wouldn't totally rule it out but it'd have to be immaculate. I've had t3x before, bit underwhelming, I didn’t get the hype tbh mate. I love the look of the American gen2, tho I'd imagine trigger would need something but I don't mind that.

M77 MK11... a cult classic , brother has one in 220 Swift, it should be fcuked if you read the Gun Digest Book of Gunsmithing Stuff... 35 years old, maybe more, never looked after it properly since he picked it up, shot thousands of rounds through it, and he can still shoot 3/4" groups off the bonnet of his motor .

I found my T3 in 6.5 swede underwhelming. Loved the cartridge but the rifle felt dead. Accurate sure but not pleasing to the eye!

Mate has a Tikka .204. Doesn't like heavy bullets.
I have a Savage Weather Warrior 16
Barrel replaced last June. Dasherman fitted a 22' 1:10 Bartelin. It loves 40 grns and also shoots 50 grn Bergers so roe legal in Scotland.
Its silly accurate and a so easy to clean.
Minimal recoil and very quiet so ideal in semi urban environments.
Reload using either Nosler or Norma brass.
I use mine almost exclusively at night for fox control with dedicated NV.
