A good evening all
I’ve been using federal 55gr soft noses for 2-3 years now in my tikka t3. And have been really happy with them near enough thumb nail groups at 100 yards of if I do my bit

I Went into the local gun shop and they have stopped stocking the federals now due to lack of sales so I’ve bought up the last few boxes.
He has in sako 50gr, hornady 50gr v max, ppu 55gr soft noses and some 55gr winchesters. All of which are abit expensive for my likieng epically the sakos 😂
Are the worth the extra the sakos or is it worth a punt on one box of ppu and see how they shoot

Cheers Rob

Shoot them in the head.

The PPU where every bit as good as Federal in my howa and the bullets seemed to be a bit tougher especialy on deer

I have heard they are good for re loaders to be honest
I might try a box, it helps seeing as I’m a tight arse aswell I don’t need persuading to spend less lol

I tried reloading ppu bullets and I could get better results with hornady so I use them. My mate loves the ppu in his howa.
My tikka didn't like sako sp at all, or my sako before that come to think of it.
I've shot a couple of munties with a vmax and you can chuck the front end away. Head or neck would be ok tho, is stick to a soft point.

My tikka T3 in 22-250 did not like PPU. Could not get a satisfactory grouping. Love my hornady vmax in 50grain. Good groups and very consistent. As said anything headshot/ neck will do.

Yeah I used to use the 55gr v max for a while. Head and neck it’s brilliant anything further back and the damage is just too much. Good rounds on foxes though 😀
