22 Lr at 100 yards

Hi , my Tikka T1x .22 Lr is zeroed at 25 yards

I’m going to an outdoor range on Sunday at 100 yards

Do I need to adjust my elevation turret up or rezero my scope 2” high to allow me to be on target ?

Or just shoot with it zeroed at 25 yards and adjust after shooting

Sorry for my newbie question,

Regards Vince

Based on a 25 yard zero and a speed of 1080fps (with typical sub sonic target ammo - SK Match in this case) you'll need to come up around 6 MOA or 1.7 mils or 6.25 inches at 100 yards. Best bet is to adjust from what is happening at the 100 yard target, but these values should get you close.

Sight height over bore is kind of important if you want to know what 25y zeroed 22LR will do at 100y.

Any semi decent ballistic calculator will get you very close. Use G1 function (find BC with quick web search) if there are no 22LR specific functions like RA4.

Hi I’m using the Hawke rim fire scope it’s a game changer , I’m hitting magpies and crows out to 150-175 yards regularly as long as it’s not windy as already said take a look , I’ve got the older model but Hawke has brought out a newer and better model now , Baz

Hello, That is very good, With my L/R and rimmy scope i only did 80 yards max ?

Well now the roebucks are out the corvids are going to pay big time , I don’t mind pushing the yards with those, I like to get up and personal with the deer, it’s helps that my .22 is a sako and recently I’ve started using Hornady 22s they’re unbelievable Baz

Using a Tikka T1X with SK standard plus subsonic ammo and a DNT Zulus 5-20LRF scope with ballistic calculator and zeroed at 50m, I was shooting rabbits at over 150m with the furthest being 192m
The onboard LRF and ballistic calculator really simplifies and speeds things up by not having to dial or refer to a dope chart

SK standard plus has a nominal velocity of 1073fps
I've chronod it and it's consistently in the range 1070-1075fps
I've tried lots of different ammo in the Tikka (Eley, CCI, Norma, Winchester, Remington etc) and the SK standard plus is definitely the most accurate
My pal uses it in his CZ457 and it's even more accurate in his rifle than it is in mine

Cheers

Bruce
