.223 Sako Powerhead blade in 1:12 twist?

Has anyone got experience of shooting.223 powerhead blades through a tikka 1:12 twist barrell? If so did they stabilise?

Hopefully a variation is on its way, and looking into using copper for the odd muntjac, primary rifle use would be foxes and most second hand options seem to be 1:12 twist.

I know that fox bullets are an option, but Sako are available and fox aren't and I'm not ready to commit to reloading for this rifle.

Thanks

Will depend on the bullet weight and length. A 1 in 12” twist should stabilise a 50 to 55gr bullet well enough. I am using the Peregrine 51gn in Rem700 1 in 12” and they work very well provided its not windy. Happily shooting rabbits at well over 200 with them. But a 223 with 50 to 60gn bullets in any wind will struggle.

I would think that Sako Powerblades should shoot well, but two identical rifles, one serial number apart and chances are they will have different preferences in ammo.

From what I have seen, the Powerblades work well.

Fox do produce 223 Factory ammo - ask your RFD to order it in.

Blade doesn't work in a 1-in-12 twist rate. I helped a friend because he couldn’t find good lead-free ammunition for his Jakele J1 (which is basically an R93 with a grip safety). We complained and i explained that the problem is related to the twist rate to importer and managed to arrange that every .223 sold in Belgium gets the opportunity to be swapped for a fast twist barrel. 1-in-10, I think. Now it shoots like it's suposed to.

Sorry for the slow response, its been a bit frantic. Thank you for the thoughts, seems like it may be a bit of a gamble which chimes with my uncertainty unless i can sort out a reliable supply of Fox. One to ask a couple of local RFDs about, or wait for a 1:8 twist.
