22LR Bore Snake

This isn't a debate for pro or anti bore snake using but those of you who choose to use bore snakes what calibre do you use for 22lr?

I tried the bore snake I use for my .223 and it started to feel damn tight and didn't try to force it. Is there a different size for 22lr?? I'd have that the .22 would've dealt with all the .22 calibres??

I’ve got a .223 bore snake that I’ve used on my Annie and it’s been fine. Pretty sure mine is a pukka Hoppes one as well.

Which brand is yours?

Believe it's a remington own version, the brass weight goes down fine it's the first section of material that seems to be an issue

Gotcha. It’s been a while since I’ve used it on a .223/5.56 barrel but I don’t seem to remember any more force when I was using it on that compared to the .22LR.

Mine is marked 22 and it gets used on both my 22-250 and my 22 rimfire
I drop the weighted end down the barrel then wrap the thin cord round my foot a couple of times with the muzzle near the ground. then pull the rifle upwards until the end of the boresnake comes out of the muzzle

I don’t know if it’s of any use to you but I’ll be at Bisley on Sat so could bring my Bore Snake along for you to have a try with?
