.243 brass length

I have a variety of .243 once fired Winchester brass from friends that don't reload what length should I trim the cases too

SAAMI spec is a max of 2.045". I have never managed to get anything consistent at max length so tend to trim about 20 thou short otherwise you end up discarding too many cases. Just make them all the same.

Trim mine to 2.035" with Lee case trimmer.

A Wilson one piece case gauge is very useful to quickly slide each case into, to determine whether the overall length is too long,and at same time check whether shoulder is in right place.

2.035” is the standard trim dimension. However, if you have shorter cases, trim all to that length, but not more than .020” shorter than max case length. So, 2.025” absolute minimum.

I trim to shortest in batch so that the factory crimp is consistently applied.

I'm now being pedantic, I know, but the SAAMI max case length is 2.045". 7mm08 is 2.035" and 308 Win 2.015". Don't know why it's different, it just is. Trimming everything to 2.035" is fine, as would be 2.025". Not sure I would go much less than that if I could help it.
