If you are not getting something that has been issued elsewhere in the country because your force has a myopic view on the HO guidance then you need to challenge them..hard
The Police are there to administer not interpret Firearms law.
the more we "the people" question and challenge poor decisions to bring all forces onto the same page the easier it will become.
stop looking at them as the "all powerful Police" that some references on here believe them to be and start looking at them as what they are.
Civil Servants with an onerous task!
make their job easier by giving them as much info as possible
ask other forces by email or letter if they issue x,y,z for NV in duplicate calibres (with good reason of course...)
Firearms managers have little problem pushing stuff upstairs if all the details are presented in an solid manner
