Hi all, just wondering on peoples thoughts on the 25creed. Seems to be a bit of hype on it over on the colonies, and just wondered if it would catch on over here? Or is the 6.5cm just to popular or equally un popular so that any case with the creedmoor tag be instantly dismissed.
I like the looks of it, but wonder if it wouldn't be taken too here? Thoughts?
Cheers

It’s looks like it will be a very capable cartridge.

I fear logistics would make it a challenge here for a bit at least.

It's a breeze to neck down 6.5 brass in one pass (better with an intermediate though).
Bullets, benefits are to be had running the heavies, 131 Sierra MK, Hornady 134 ELDM, Berger 133 or 135. All are still a faff to get hold of at the minute, but Hornady are on order with some suppliers, and I eventually got Sierras and Bergers by order.
However you could run other lighter bullets, but you'd have to be aware of your freebore, since the original reamer for 25CM was designed around the 131s.
Lots of interest in the 25x47 Lapua across the pond,so bullets are in production and available.
I really enjoy my 25CM, but it's generally going to just run 101LRX, as I'm having a 25x47 built just for target stuff.

After all the 6.5mm talk I finally caved and got a 257Wby so I'd be more likely to just have a fast twist barrel on that, but if starting from scratch a 25 Creed seems a lovely choice to me.

Could never understand why the quarter bores were never more popular.
Did lack of gun sales hold the bullet makers back, or did bullet makers hold the sale of guns back?
Ken.

Me either. Especially before the relatively recent fascination of super slippery hunting bullet.
Also, and with no good justification, I'd take a imperial 6.5mm and imperial 7mm over the metrics. Just more charisma somehow.
I'd take an 8mm over a 30 though 🤣

I like the on paper ballistics of the cartridge, i also like the 2506 ballistics and wondered if they're would be a demand for the cm. Possibly along the same lines as the 22cm. Would it find a following on uk/European shores. I find them all very interesting. With older rifle twist rates being slower and possibly not handling copper as well, would these new cm cartridges with faster twist barrels keep calibres under 6.5 relevant.
Just a thought
