What copper are people using in their 270 win?
Thanks for reply. I will try and find somewhere near that sells them and give them a goHornady 'Superformance' 130 gr. Been using it for years in my Sako L61 with no problems, more accurate than best factory lead loads and nothing but clean kills. Just don't believe the advertising hype that says "no more felt recoil", you can feel the difference but not a problem if you are used to 270.
I have generally found that 'faster is better' in terms of both knock down and accuracy with copper bullets.
Yeah and mine is fussy on factory loads. Been loading yewtree, but they destroy carcassesEvery rifle may like different ammunition, however im using Sako Powerhead Blade 120gr successfully in both a Tikka T3 and Browning X Bolt
I got .243 equivalent (also work well) from Haylett Grange at Haverford West recently, may have- or be able to get- .270. Usually stock up mine when I am passing Bushwear in Stirling. Thanks for reply. I will try and find somewhere near that sells them and give them a go![]()
