Ive had deer with the .270 mind-but without the mod on the gun i found it "impressive" but where a wee bit discretion was required it was clearly the worst choice. The mod now makes it viable wherever im moochingMy 30.06 made me sit up' first shot after being used to 6.5x55 and 120gn. I dropped the bullet weight to 150gn way softer.

Hmmmm. Not sure I’d agree with that first partRifle fit to the shooter is just as important as shotgun fit,
Most rifles & shotguns are never a first time fit, bit like an off the peg suit that needs fettling.

What make of rifle ? Is it Parker Hale BSA ?Im getting there --slowly-- takes a lot more thought in taking the shot than with my .243.Overall im pleased the guns not needing repaired and im further forward in the transition to a heavier calibre.I was just saying to Ed there up at edinburgh rifles ,ill use it during the rut this year i think.View attachment 477675
