Because they can't increase the life of a certificate, but they can renew it early. Why don't they offer it for 6 - 8 years instead?
Were GP reports required back then?West Mercia did this a few years ago, uptake was good. People are prone to complain about waiting times for renewals, why be cynical about a scheme designed to reduce them?
Can they reduce the cost of an application though, as I thought that was set by the Home Office.Because they can't increase the life of a certificate, but they can renew it early.
As said they have had nearly 30 years to sort it out, unbelievable really.thats a huge step back and WILL lead to all renewals being 3 years ,dont except it ¬there problem will become yours
guess you went coterminous to save yourself some money and the likely need of just one GP report.I had my shotgun certificate renewed early when being granted my fac, this made it easier from an admin standpoint by for the police and me, it's a similar thing, if they don't want to accept it they don't have to, but you can bet there will be complaints at renewal time if things are delayed
And the hassle of having them running at different times, but it wasn't my suggestion it was by the police. It's the same thing, renewing earlier to make things easier down the lineguess you went coterminous to save yourself some money and the likely need of just one GP report.
Except that would put you back in the high demand periodthats a huge step back and WILL lead to all renewals being 3 years ,dont except it ¬there problem will become yours
