Can I ask what you advise if you get no reply please, twice in my case, for example speeding prior to 2006, with the written form its quite easy to explain that and discuss with the FEO, the online form is more restrictive with the way you answer and is more of a tick box

It's still possible to enter details via the online yes not as good. You can always email this way it can be audited so no come backs on you. You can also give them a call leave them a message mention you have asked twice but received no response.

In the UK there is, or should be, a high threshold to possessing and using firearms. You need to demonstrate you are a fit and proper person.

This all starts with the application. Of course the Police can and will check the Police records and will do so to confirm that you have been open and honest about previous mistakes.

I did get prosecuted for speeding 20 years ago. Firearms Enquiry Officer rang me up and said they had noted my offence. He then told me that If it happened again they would be giving consideration as to whether I should continue to hold an FAC as it would indicate that I disregarded the laws of the land.

Yes, the speeding offences is a nice one to catch out a few more shooters.. get a couple over the summer abd expect a phone call, and if you drive enough its easily done with all the average speed cameras around... it turns out these are not always operating within the law... see what's happening

Im not ramming anything down anyone's throat. Why would I be cross i dont expect everyone to agree. Just offering some help and advice based on working in a fld for three years. Ill let the folk on here decide for themselves who's advice to take. Have a nice day.
